Stop Bar LED Lighting Installation

Estimating, Cost Planning, Quantity Surveying

$

Project overview

Technology integration for enhanced runway safety signalling.

Installation of Red LED fittings to Stop Bars only further to Ring of Red software upgrade. Stop Bar lighting is essential to safe runway operations — providing aircraft with clear visual signals to stop before entering the runway. The Ring of Red software upgrade required compatible LED lighting systems to be installed.

This project involved installation of new LED fittings to existing Stop Bar locations across the airfield. The work required careful coordination with airport operations to minimise disruption to runway availability. Installation of LED fittings was completed with associated electrical connections and testing to ensure full compliance with aviation lighting standards.

Quant Measur managed the commercial and cost aspects, ensuring completion to specification within budget parameters.

Replacement of 27 Circuit Approach Cable

Estimating, Cost Planning, Quantity Surveying

$

Project overview

Specialist submarine installation ensuring circuit reliability.

Provision of new primary AGL approach cable across a dock cutting, including new submersed ducting and associated infrastructure. The primary power and control circuit serving the approach lights must be of sufficient capacity and reliability to ensure uninterrupted service.

This project involved replacement of an aging 27-circuit primary approach cable. The cable routing presented unique challenges — it required crossing the King George V Dock, necessitating submersed ducting installations and careful coordination with maritime operations. The work required removal of existing cable, installation of new submersed cable ducting across the dock, installation of new 27-circuit primary cable, and testing and commissioning to aviation electrical standards.

Careful planning and coordination were required to minimise disruption to maritime operations and airfield lighting service. Quant Measur managed the commercial and cost aspects throughout.

Replacement of AGL Switch & Field Termination Panels

Estimating, Cost Planning, Quantity Surveying

$

Project overview

Modernized components enhancing diagnostics and predictive maintenance.

Replacement of 17 AGL Field Termination Panels (CTP) with integrated digital ammeters and voltmeters, plus 2 AGL switch room LV electrical switch panels. Aircraft Ground Lighting systems incorporate numerous electrical components distributed across the airfield — Field Termination Panels located at remote lighting locations and Switch Room Electrical Panels in the central control facility.

This project involved replacement of aging Field Termination Panels with modern units incorporating integrated digital ammeters and voltmeters — enabling real-time monitoring of current and voltage at each lighting location. Two LV electrical switch panels in the switch room were replaced to modernise control and distribution infrastructure. The modernised panels provided enhanced monitoring, diagnostics and control capabilities — improving system reliability and enabling predictive maintenance.

Quant Measur managed all commercial aspects of this major infrastructure upgrade.
