Bridge bearing replacement with monitoring equipment installation.
The installation of monitoring equipment, jacking up of beam ends to replace the existing bearing, and the installation of new bearing keepers. Bearing replacement is structurally critical work on a highway bridge — the bearings carry and distribute superstructure loads, and accurate replacement is essential to ongoing structural integrity.
Quant Measur managed the full commercial cycle, providing initial budget estimates, cost management through design development, tender procurement, site administration and monthly cost reporting. The team also advised on the form of contract and proposed amendments to contract conditions, providing recommendations on the contract price.

Initial Cost Estimation
Provided an initial budget estimate and management of the same during the design development, and a final detailed cost plan and advice on the project budget.
Tender Procurement
Assisted with the issue of form of contract to be utilised, proposed amendments to contract conditions, preparation of the Preliminaries document, the administration of the tender process and acted on behalf of the Client in liaising with Contractors as necessary, and provided recommendations on the contract price.
Site Administration
Attended site / progress meetings as required, agreed with the Contractor the value of interim payments in accordance with the contract and notified the Client and Contractor accordingly by issue of the corresponding certificates.
Monthly Reporting
Assisted in the preparation of written monthly assessments of the progress of the works for consideration by the Client, including the anticipated final cost of the works.
